CNN = Pravda?: Media muscles flex to fix election
If memory serves, Pravda is the Russian word for truth. It was also the name of the newspaper most-read by Soviet citizens, famous for selling The Party’s most recent ideas and twisting, spinning or burying any negative news — always to the benefit of The Party.
CNN has, in my opinion, abandoned any shred of journalistic integrity in an effort to throw the 2008 election for the Democrats. Truth is an Orwellian concept for the Left. Though “truthiness” was coined by Stephen Colbert to refer to “Bush’s Lies,” its perfect to describe most political reporting by CNN. It means “what we want you to believe,” not “what actually happened.”
So there’s no surprise in CNN’s “accidental” use of planted questions by known Democratic operatives. These are reporters. We know how to find out what people really believe, especially in the Google Age. they’ve been soliciting and choosing the questions for months; it never occurred to them they should google the names of questioners, just to be sure there was no funny business going on? But Michelle and her correspondents already have FOUR Democratic operatives — declared Obama and Edwards voters, union lackeys, an actual member of a Hillary! advisory committee — CNN allowed to question the Republican candidates last night:
Michelle Malkin » Digging out more CNN/YouTube plants: Abortion questioner is declared Edwards supporter (and a slobbering Anderson Cooper fan); Log Cabin Republican questioner is declared Obama supporter; lead toy questioner is a prominent union activist for the Edwards-endorsing United Steelworkers
Isn’t this supposed to be the part of the election cycle where each party focuses on choosing its own candidate. It’s as if there’s a collusion among the Democrats to be nice to each other and use underhanded tactics to be sure the GOP candidate limps into the General Election.
I haven’t decided who I’ll be voting for in the primary. But in the general, the party LEAST LIKELY to play dirty will have a big advantage in my book. The problem, though, is that most people don’t take the time to check out their news sources. If The Media tells them something, they assume its been fact-checked and bias-protected.
The time has come for America to abandon the “Unbiased” Media Model. CNN’s in the bag for the Democrats, for Hillary! specifically. The other major networks (FOX excluded) and most major newspapers are too. It’s time for them to come clean with their consumers.
I have no problem with a partisan media, as long as they’re truthful about their preferences.
