Good news, but to who?
Earth Might Survive Sun’s Explosion – New York Times
“Astronomers are announcing that they have discovered a planet that seems to have survived the puffing up of its home star, suggesting there is some hope that Earth could survive the aging and swelling of the Sun.”
This is an interesting story, I guess, but why exactly should I care about the Earth that far out. Even if the theories of hyperbolic Global Warmigans can be discounted, the likelihood that any slivers of my DNA remain at this point has to be a number very near zero.
Besides, Al Gore told me humanity might destroy the planet as soon as next Tuesday. Obviously these scientists don’t belong to the elite “consensus” class.
So how did they talk the NYT into even speaking to them?
